A winter NSS Special Camp was organized by Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, sector 26 TM, Chandigarh from 18.12.2018 to 24.12.2018 under the supervision of Programme Officer Mr. Anil Verma. The theme of the camp was “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. In this camp the issues of water management, environment conservation, cleanliness, sports and youth personality development, emancipation of woman and self defense training programme for girls etc. were undertaken.
This camp was inaugurated by our area councilor Mr. Dalip Sharma in the presence of Principal Mrs. Veena Kapur and School Management Committee. The councilor motivated NSS volunteers to contribute towards society and be aware about their rights and duties. President of SMC of Bapu Dham Colony (adopted by NSS unit) promised to help the volunteers in every possible way. Principal Mrs. Veena Kapur shared her views on the social awareness among youth.
Sh. Bikram Rana, The State Liaison Officer, UT Chandigarh Administration made them aware about the aims and objectives of NSS and motivated them to take active part in all activities during this camp. Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Senior Constable, Chandigarh Police took demonstrative session with the help of his female counterpart on self defense for girls, a session on stress, types of stress and techniques on stress management was delivered by Sister Lalita and Sister Neha from Brahma Kumari, career guidance and skill development seminar was conducted by Mr. Ritesh Gupta from Footwear Design & Development Institute, Govt. of India, a motivational organ donation awareness session with the help of documentary film was taken by Ms. Neha Sharma from Mohan Foundation to create awareness among volunteers and all volunteers took oath to donate organs in her session. During the camp a play was tagged by the students. Group discussion was held on Value Education, HIV AIDS and woman empowerment.
This camp came to an end on 24th December 2018.Programme Officer Mr. Anil Verma presented the camp report of the activities during NSS camp. A cultural programme was also performed by volunteers. Best volunteers were awarded by our worthy Principal. Mr. Anil Verma thanked all the dignitaries, teachers and volunteers for this successful camp.
